John Denver to be Postumously Honored with Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Ceremony Ties With The Release of All Of My Memories: The John Denver Collection Box Set and an Exhibition of Denver’s Photography at Substrate Gallery in Hollywood

The Hollywood Chamber is proud to announce that the late John Denver will be honored posthumously with the 2,531st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. PDT.

The star will be located at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard. “We are proud to honor one of America’s singing icons who has been missed for many years. Luckily for us we have his amazing music to remember him by,” stated Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Leron Gubler. Helping Gubler to unveil the star in the category of Recording will be Denver’s children, Zak Deutschendorf and Jesse Belle Denver, who will accept the honor on behalf of the family. The Band Trampled by Turtles will be performing an acoustic version of Denver’s song “Annie’s Song. The band is in town for their performance that evening at the Fonda Theatre the evening of the star ceremony.

In celebration of John Denver’s recording career, a new Box set titled All of My Memories: The John Denver Collection will be released on November 4, through RCA/Legacy Recordings, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment. The deluxe 90-song, 4 CD set box set is a first comprehensive multi-label overview to span 1964 to 1997, including six previously unreleased tracks, demos, promo rarities, live performances, limited edition and private pressings, and more. Special guest performers include the Mitchell Trio, Olivia Newton-John, Sylvie Vartan, Placido Domingo, Emmylou Harris, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the Muppets and others.

Among Denver’s many gifts, he was a talented photographer. “Sweet, Sweet Life: The Photographic Works of John Denver” represents a chance for the world to experience life as John Denver lived it. Throughout his lifetime, Denver captured thousands of images as he traveled across the globe, spreading his message of peace, love, and conservation. Through his mastery of composition, lighting, and the decisive moment, Denver became an accomplished photographer. Substrate Gallery in Hollywood is proud to present over 40 never-before-seen photographs of distinction from the celebrated musician from October 24th to November 23rd. The Gallery will be showing and selling limited editions of Denver’s personal photography, as curated by representatives of The John Denver Estate and Ramses Granados from the Substrate Fine Art Gallery. The public is invited to join in on taking a rare and unique look into the artist’s life, mind and heart!
