‘Spirit’ Finds a New Home at Red Rocks Amphitheatre
The Colorado Music Hall of Fame and the Spirit statue have found a permanent home at the Trading Post at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Red Rocks was John Denver’s favorite place to play. He first played there in July 1972 and used the occasion to make the first performance of “Rocky Mountain High.” In 1974, as his popularity soared, he was the first performer to play four consecutive nights at Red Rocks. He performed there 17 times, the last being in 1989.
