Christmas Like a Lullaby
Christmas Like a Lullaby
Christmas like a lullaby steals across the land
A breeze upon the waters, rain fall on the sand
We celebrate a baby born from spirit into man
And Christmas like a lullaby steals across the landIt’s morning in Australia; In fact, it’s Christmas day
And Colorado never seemed so very far awayBack where night has fallen and it’s still Christmas Eve
And snow is in the mountains that I always hate to leave
Christmas bells are ringing there’s presents ‘neath the tree
I know that it’s been said before and now I know it’s true
That home is where the heart is and Christmas lives there tooAnd on this morning Peace on Earth is still your fervent prayer
And I can feel it being whispered softly everywhere
And guns are called to silence and anger called to still
And brotherhood and sisterhood surrounded by goodwillChristmas like a lullaby steals across the land
A breeze upon the waters, rain fall on the sand
We celebrate a baby aborn from spirit into man
And Christmas like a lullaby steals across the land(written by John Denver)

The First Noel
The First Noel
The First Noel, the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel! They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel! And by the light of that same star
Three Wise men came from country far
To seek for a King was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel! This star drew nigh to the northwest
O’er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both Pause and stay
Right o’er the place where Jesus lay.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel! Then entered in those Wise men three
Full reverently upon their knee
And offered there in His presence
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel! Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
That hath made Heaven and earth of nought
And with his blood mankind has bought.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!(Sandys/Gilbert)

Away in a Manger
Away in a Manger
Away in a manger,
No crib for His bed
The little Lord Jesus
Laid down His sweet headThe stars in the bright sky
Looked down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hayThe cattle are lowing
The poor Baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makesI love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my side,
‘Til morning is nigh.Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I prayBless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven
To live with Thee there(traditional)

The Children of Bethlehem
The Children of Bethlehem
The children of Bethlehem,
One cold winter’s night,
Were wakened by singing,
And a heavenly light.
With whispers and murmurs,
On pattering feet,
The children of Bethlehem
Came into the street. The people were sleeping,
All safely in bed.
The children heard singing
In the sky overhead.
They heard, “Peace will be with you,
Whoever you are.
Oh, come to the stable
Come, follow the Star!”And the children of Bethlehem,
That cold winter’s night,
Came down to the stable;
They followed the light.
Now the roosters were crowing,
At the dawning of day.
The baby lay sleeping.
In the manger he lay.The children of Bethlehem,
Came in two by two.
They came to the manger,
That the Star brought them to.
They came to the manger,
Where the sweet Baby lay.
The children of Bethlehem,
Showed us the way.(written by Paxton)

White Christmas
White Christmas
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snowI’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be whiteI’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white(written by Irving Berlin)

Marvelous Toy
Marvelous Toy
When I was just a wee little boy, full of health and joy.
One Christmas morning I received The Marvellous Little Toy.
A wonder to behold it was with many colours bright
And the moment I laid eyes on it, it became my heart’s delight. It went zip when it moved and bop when it stopped whirrrrr when it stood
still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will. The first time that I picked it up I had a big surprise.
For right on it’s bottom were two big buttons that looked like big green eyes.
I first pushed one and then the other, then I twisted it’s lid.
And when I set it down again, this is what it did.It went zip when it moved and bop when it stopped whirrrrr when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will.It first marched left and then marched right, then marched under a chair
and when I looked where it had gone it wasn’t even there.
I started to cry but my Daddy laughed ’cause he knew that I would find.
when i turned around my marvellous toy would be chugging from behind. It went zip when it moved and bop when it stopped and whirrrrr when it stood
still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will. The years have gone by too quickly it seems, I have my own little boy.
And yesterday I gave to him my marvellous little toy
His eyes nearly popped right out of his head and he gave a squeal of glee…
Neither one of us knows just what it is but he loves it just like me.It still goes zip when it moves and bop when it stops, whirrrrr when it
stands still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will.(written by Tom Paxton)

Blue Christmas
Blue Christmas
I’ll have a blue Christmas without you;
I’ll be so blue thinking about you.
Decorations of red
on a green Christmas tree
Just won’t mean a thing if
you’re not here with me
And when those blue heartaches start hurting,
I’ll have some blue memories for certain;
You’ll be doing all right
with your Christmas of white,
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas.
Decorations of red
on a green Christmas tree
Just won’t mean a thing if
you’re not here with me
And when those blue heartaches start hurting,
I’ll have some blue blue memories for certain;
You’ll be doing all right
with your Christmas of white,
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas.
Yes I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas.(written by Hays/Johnson)

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names,
they never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games. Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say,
“Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”
Then all the reindeer loved him and they shouted out with glee,
“Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, you’ll go down in history.”Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say,

Mary’s Little Boy Child
Mary’s Little Boy Child
Long time ago in Bethlehem
So the Holy Bible say
Mary’s boy child Jesus Christ
Was born on Christmas dayHark now hear the angels sing
A new king born today
And man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas dayTrumpets sound and angels sing
Listen what they say
That man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas dayWhile shepherds watch their flock by night
They see a bright new shining star
Then hear a choir sing
The music seemed to come from afarNow Joseph and his wife Mary
Come to Bethlehem that night
Then find no place to born the child
Not a single room was in sightHark now hear the angels sing
A new king born today
And man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas dayTrumpets sound and angels sing
Listen what they say
That man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas dayBy and by they find a little nook
In a stable all forlorn
And in a manger cold and dark
Mary’s little boy was born(written by J. Hairston)

The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.They know that Santa’s on his way;
He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother’s child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.And so I’m offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although its been said many times, many ways,
A very Merry Christmas to you(written by Torme/Wells)
